Maurizio Conti – The Andretti & Ickx 1972 Ferrari 312 PB Daytona car.
This is a one off scratchbuilt example of a 1:10th scale model of the 312 PB as raced at Daytona in 1972 and is set to a solid wood base with plaque signed by Maurizio Conti.
The tin glazed copper bodied model has a hinged fully opening engine compartment revealing a finely replicated horizontally opposed 12-cylinder boxer engine with twin overhead camshafts per bank of cylinders.
Maurizio Conti has emphasized the 312PB’s widened chassis developed after the original 312 F1 car and complimented the model with bespoke hand moulded low profile slick tyres with authentically reproduced raised relief manufacturers text to the sides.
The car comes with a triple coat of Ferrari red and the chrome work is all hand executed. The cockpit interior includes a real Ferrari material seat, moulded and shaped windscreen and a full set of aluminium and pewter work controls to include a leather clad steering wheel and racing harness.
This is a one off example by Maurizio Conti and has a wealth of finely worked detailing, to include air intakes, head light covers, rear view mirror, front air intake and the gear box assembly.
